Translation

I commented in my last post that Hailey is talking a lot and its great to see your once baby now talking to you and having somewhat of a real conversation. Here are some of the things she says that honestly leave me speechless sometimes.

  1. Mommy you look pretty, pretty mommy (I have high self esteem because of her).
  2. I know, I know (do I say this a lot...hmmmm).
  3. Mommy coming (she says this to Layla when she cries, and since Hailey is the one that made her cry...she needs to comfort her somehow).
  4. I'm fine mommy, all better (sooo cute)
  5. Sorry mommy ( I actually here this for everything...good and bad-sweet girl)
  6. Daddy go home (this actually means she wants him to COME home, go...come - same thing??)
  7. I want to talk to Daddy (she hands me the phone to dial the number for her).
  8. "Mommy watch..."

I'm sure there is more to come and more to learn, but in the meantime I'm loving it! Kids are like sponges and mine is soaking it all in.

Getting older and closer

I feel like I haven't been on top of my blog, no postings in over a month...gasp! Other than Halloween (which I still have not posted) everything has been the same. In the meantime, Layla is getting older and trying so hard to sit up. She still is not quite there yet but she is determined to do it. She is also finding her voice and likes to shriek or squeal. Its cute because sometimes she sounds like a little pig...

Hailey is talking non-stop! Wow, I am loving it. We speak to her in Spanish but she responds in English. Half of the time I don't know where she learns the English vocabulary... She is loving her sister and seems to be getting closer to her and pretty protective. Since Layla can interact more I think Hailey finally sees her as a human. I have mentioned this before but its really neat to see them form a special bond. Although, don't let that fool you. Hailey still seems to bother her a lot and is constantly wanting to antagonize her...I guess this is sibling love too. Nevertheless, it seems like both my girls are getting older and closer.

The mind of a two year old

I know I have mentioned countless times how lucky I am to be a mother and how much I adore my children....however, the last two days have been trying (and somewhat hilarious). Please don't think I don't watch my 2 year old...because I do. But she is QUICK. She can disappear in a split second, talks back before I am even done talking to her and does things when I think she is doing another thing. I don't understand what she is thinking half of the time but bless her cleverness and quickness. Somehow I adore her more for keeping me on my toes!

Sunday night she decided to write on the floor. Who knows where she got the crayons from but here is her masterpiece.

Here is another floor masterpiece which she did on Monday night just steps away from the night before. I looked and looked for those crayons and still I have not found them. Luckily the crayon came off after a little elbow grease.

Here is today's MORNING snack(CAKE FROSTING)...she got it out of the pantry, grabbed a spoon and ate away. I saw it on the table and freaked out because she ate a pretty good amount.

And the grand finale...can you see the container? It's sugar sprinkles...which she took to MY bed and spread it all over. I had to vacuum my sheets and re-wash everything. Which I had just done on Friday.

You may ask where was I during all this? Well taking a shower, feeding Layla and perhaps on the computer paying bills and checking my email. But I'm telling you she is QUICK. Right now she opened up the Johnson's baby wash and poured it all out...and I just bought it yesterday. Gotta love kids!!

Weekend 'pool' Getaway

Our good friend and amazing neighbor allowed us to stay at her timeshare in Palm Springs for the weekend. Palm Springs is always 10 degrees hotter than here but I thought I would make the best of it and think positive. Well, it turned out to be more of a 'weekend pool getaway.' We were there on Saturday at 8:30 in the morning until who knows what time. The heat wasn't horrible (although it reached 107 degrees on Sat) and it was really nice by the pool. Saturday night we walked down the downtown strip and looked at all the shops and that's when the heat was a little exhausting. It was nice not doing anything except relaxing and leaving our cares behind. A nice refreshing getaway!

Hailey would NOT get out of the pool for anything...

well she would get out to jump back in-she loves sinking and coming back up.
Sweet Layla didn't seem affected by the heat. She sat in the shade and was intrigued by her hands...

Hailey loving (or smothering) her sister....

B-L-E-S-S-I-N-G-S

And it all started with a simple glance at a YSA dance in Huntington Beach (actually I was trying to pick up on one of his friends and I won't mention names because a lot of you would know him). Then from there some friends hooked us up,we dated for a year and here we are almost six years later married and sealed for time and all eternity. Then after almost 31/2 years we had our sweet Hailey. And our precious Layla just arrived almost 3 months ago.

I am eternally grateful for my amazing family, for my amazing husband and for my sweet girls. I am truly blessed and extremely happy to share my journey with them for eternities. All 3 of them are the greatest blessings bestowed upon me!

"You already have your Edward..."

OK, so I don't make postings like this but I have to do this one. I have been reading the Twilight books and I am extremely addicted. I think I am going to go through withdrawals when I finish them. There are four and I am on the third. I serve as a Mia Maid advisor in the YW's and my girls have been telling me I have to read these books. So one day I did and haven't been able to stop thinking, dreaming, and don't want to put the books down. (There have been two days already during the last week or so that I have let Hailey do whatever around the house just so I can read them...disaster cleaning up afterwards). I have gone to bed twice already at 3am because I can't put the book down (then 3 hours later I am up with my newborn..ughhh).

So to not give the details out for those who haven't read them (READ THEM) I am in love with one of the characters named Edward. In LOVE....(after my husband of course). And I was telling the girls that I love Edward and if I was Bella (another character) I would want Edward too. Then one of my sweet girls said: " Sister Anderson, you already have your Edward." How sweet is that and how true that is! So Jason, I will be your Bella if you will be my Edward!

I think I am losing it!!!! So for all of you out there not yet in Twilight world...you have to read them. The movie is coming out in December and the date is already marked on my calendar. Team Edward or team Jacob?

Cotton Candy Cloud

This is honestly Hailey's first taste of the sugary, quick melting, puffy cloud of cotton candy! My sweet girl is two and I have deprived her until now. And she loved it. She was so excited that it took her a while to actually go for it. But once she did; she did not stop.

Apples and Raspberries at the Orchard

So I wanted to do something different as a family on Saturday and this is what I came up with. It was really fun and we had a great time. Even Jason who didn't seem too enthused in the beginning enjoyed himself. Hailey loved it of course and instead of picking apples of the tree she wanted to pick the ones off the ground. What a great recycler.

It seems like when I want to take a picture with Hailey she always looks away...or it could be the picture taker-Hmmmm??

I adore this picture. Hailey and her dad are seriously the best of buds right now!

Before you go to the orchard to pick apples they explain the rules to you. One of the rules is not to eat the apples until you are done picking because this is an organic orchard and they don't want someone else taking what you picked. Well, leave it to Hailey to not follow the rules. She picked and grabbed...and ate.

She found this stick and had it practically the whole time. Then she didn't want to leave without it. It was her best friend for the remainder of the day...

Our days work! Yeah right, we bought the smallest bag and it was so easy to pick apples. Jason and I had a contest who could pick the biggest one. He won...he kept telling me there was a strategy to it. What strategy is there when it comes to twisting an apple of the tree?

After apple picking we headed to the raspberry vines! There were so many I couldn't resist. The best part is picking them and popping them in your mouth.

We could never fill the container up with enough raspberries because miss Hailey kept eating them as we filled it up. I just kept seeing our hard work go into her tummy.

Here is my HOT raspberry picker! Jase really got into this raspberry picking thing. He is the one who did most of the picking.

Finally after a lot of walking and patience waiting for the raspberry container, Hailey just plopped herself on the ground and ate away...but before that she had to pick off the spikey balls from her hands (they were also all over her shoes, bottom of her pants and after sitting on the ground-on her bottom). Another great fun filled day as a family!
